Dave was great! We met him at the wedding show in the Outer Banks and we liked him immediately. He just matched our personalities. He’s a happy guy that likes being there while others celebrate their special day.
We had a low key wedding that only included 16 people, but he was great at judging that. He could tell that we were all about having fun instead of being too formal. And he really added to it. He was very professional and upbeat. He seemed as happy as we were. I have no doubt that he would have been perfect no matter what kind of wedding we had, traditional, non-traditional, formal.
He was in touch with us along the way. He would check in and always respond to my emails promptly to let me know that he’d received my communication, ceremony, payment, etc. We were still writing our vows the night before and that wasn’t a problem. He understood how frantic the process is and the ceremony was flawless, like it was written all at once. Then after the ceremony, I felt bad because I was a spaz and he ran out to my car and got the paperwork and had the witnesses sign it while we were taking pictures. I really appreciated that because he understood that a bride has a million things going on. And he didn’t mind helping out at all. I felt like he was a friend performing our ceremony. He sent in the paperwork right away, so we had our marriage licence within 2 weeks. I think sooner.
I wouldn’t hesitate to say that we were confident that he was the BEST choice for an officiant. Good luck on your choice and congrats. I really don’t think you can go wrong with Dave. You’ll like working with him.

Dr Dave was a wonderful officiant – he was extremely down to earth and made me feel so relaxed during our meetings and the day of the wedding. He has a wonderful presence and is extremely kind and had a great sense of humor for our non conventional, bilingual wedding. He was so understanding and receptive of all our desires – from readings in spanish by friends to traditional prayers – he helped make everything flow and made us feel completely at ease. We had so much fun during the ceremony. He really was great!

You were such an instrumental part of our day– your calm manner and great sense of humor definitely helped us get through (or stumble through) our vows with ease. Even though the time we spent together was so short, You made a life long memory in our hearts. We can’t stop telling everyone what a great time we had. Everything was perfect. You did a wonderful job and it was everything we wanted and more. For years we talked about a wedding on the beach and you made it come true. It was a true dream. I’m laughing now thinking about Matty crying and I don’t think that I stopped giggling the whole time. So as I sit here watching the snow fall outside and it is in the thirties I think back and I have warm thoughts of our wedding and it was all because of you. Dr.Dave was immediately resposive to our requests and needs. My husband and I are from NY State and had several questions concerns and needs with getting legally married in another state. On top of that our location was a little difficult getting to considering we were having a tropical storm, much like the mail man, Dave delivered, rain wind and possible hail! 🙂 We had originally planned to write our own vows and Dave hadnt planned to give anything on his own, with all the wedding hub-bub Wayne nor myself had written a solitary word, Dave was informed of this last minute and performed a ceremony that was more meaningful, fulfilling and suiting our love after only a couple telephone conversations and some emails. Dr. Dave was fantastic at our Sanderling wedding in June. He met with us prior to the ceremony to get to know us and our story. He made the ceremony elegant, but casual and light hearted. Dr. Dave Keller was very polite and very easy to deal with. We live out of state so all of our communication was e-mail and he always responded to the e-mail right away. Living out of state I was worried about the communication and it was always there no questions asked. When we arrived in town we set up a meeting to meet with Dr. Keller and he was very prompt and very helpful to put us both at ease for the big day, that was our first time meeting and it was very easy going. Our wedding ceremony was exactly what we wanted and it was very professionally done. My husband and I were very satisfied with his quality of work and about how professional he was. During the ceremony he even included our 4 year old son and we did not know about it until it was happening it was a surprise for us all. I would recommend Dr. Keller to any future bride that will be getting married in OBX. He is very easy going, listens to you very well as well as planning your ceremony exactly how you envisoned it!
Dr Dave Keller was awesome! He was so easy to work with, quick to get back to emails and provide suggestions. He made the process of getting married much less stressful and everyone enjoyed the ceremony. We had to move our ceremony at the last minute from a lighthouse to the beach at the house we rented and he was quick to come up with suggestions on how to set it up so that everyone could hear and see. I would definitely recommend him to anyone getting married down in the Outer Banks. ~Loni
We could not have found a more perfect officiant to marry us! Dr. Dave was like an old friend. We felt like we’d known him our entire lives after just a few conversations with him on the phone. We didn’t meet him in person until the day of the wedding and our ceremony was PERFECT (with the exception of needing a line or two a piece repeated so that we could say them during our vows because we were so excited)!!! If you are looking for an officiant who will give you a ceremony that is all about you as the couple, that also celebrates your friends and family, Dr. Dave is it! What a pleasure it was working with him!!!
